My main hobby involves woodworking, it is something I just picked up recently and it helps to pass the time
My brother got me a small set of carving tools and some wooden blocks for my birthday and it has been interesting.
I have only carved two things:
- A wooden hammer
- a bat for my brothers birthday
- my brother carved a little truck for himself and claims it's the best thing ever
Some interesting things I have learned:
- I have only cut myself once, which is nothing short of a miracle (bring Band-aids just in case)
- It is best to wear some kind of gloves while carving in order to minimize the risk of cutting yourself
- Each tool has a purpose but some tools can do that job better
- It's a very slow process to get even a little work done so be sure to reserve a good chunk of time when you start
